Well, who is the main character? We believe you better play the game to learn about it. So there'll be a small secret for you. By the way, we are not sure this nice-looking guy remembers who he is and where he came from.
We really wanted to create something nice-looking and cute - who both adults and kids would love. At the same time we had to keep the balance between the costs and the quality. So we opted for high-quality with as little detail as possible.
Our first attempts - the main character drawn on a piece of paper
That's not because we are penny-pinchers, we just didn't want to spend all the little money we had on animation. The main character is not anthropomorphic because it is faster to draw and animate.
Iteration 2 sketch - when we worked on the script
We chose this form - later on we'll change the proportions only
Iteration 3: drawn on an iPad in Adobe Draw.
Almost what the character looks now
Next step - drawn in Adobe Illustrator, just take a look
This is when we started doing animations (it turned out - we shouldn't have done it)
Here you go - this is almost the final version is different. We added shades to make it 3d-looking.
We really love the way the guy looks.
Compare the first one with the final one.
Which one do you like more?
Here's a bonus for you! The first 3d figure of the main character. 100% hand-made!
Please be patient!
We are coding hard to make it happen as fast as possible - in the meantime follow us on FB, VK, Twitter and Instagram to have a sneak peek into development process. Do not miss Untempus' release!
